Presenter:  Michele Stillman OTD, OTR/L, RN

Bio: I am a 1995 graduate of Quinnipiac College’s Occupational therapy program. For the past 25 plus years, I have been an occupational therapist in SNF’s, short-term rehabilitation, school-based practice, home health care, administration, mental health and academia. I am currently the Occupational Therapy Supervisor at Capitol Region Mental Health Center- Young Adult services and an Adjunct Professor in Goodwin’s University’s OTA program. I recently graduated from American International College, earning my Post-Professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate. I am also a registered professional nurse, licensed foster parent, children’s ministry director and mom of four incredible boys. 

 

Learning Objectives Attendees Should Achieve:

1. Participants will increase their understanding of the relationship between sensory processing and mental health.

2. Participants will explore the process of evaluating and planning for intervention using occupational therapy models.

3. Participants will learn to apply their knowledge of sensory processing and mental health to address issues experienced during to Covid-19 pandemic.


Summary of Event: 

This Mental Health SIS event will review and discuss the AOTA CE Article “Sensory Processing and Mental Health During the Covid-19 Pandemic”. We will discuss the article and focus on the case studies presented. Disclaimer: We will not complete the questions for AOTA credit. If participants wish to pay for the AOTA CEU/PDU credit, they can do this on their own if they choose.
