ConnOTA Appreciation:

ConnOTA 2018 Annual Fall SIS Conference

November 3, 2018 from 8:00-1:00

Masonicare at Ashlar Village

74 Cheshire Road, Wallingford, CT.

Keynote address by: Janet O’Flynn, OTD, OTR/L

“Where is your OT heart leading you?”

Dr. O’Flynn is a pediatric OT with 30 years of experience in home health care, early intervention, and the school systems. In the 1990’s she worked in the public schools in Meriden, CT, in private practice in Wallingford, and in the Valley VNA in Ansonia, and has happy memories of colleagues in Connecticut.   Presently Dr. O’Flynn is serving as the dean of 2 academic programs of rehabilitation, one in OT and one in PT, in the Episcopal University of Haiti, in the town of Léogâne.  These programs are new to Haiti: the three OTs who graduate in December of 2019 will be the first in that country.

Dr. O’Flynn’s address will provide a framework for returning to our own roots in remembering our source of inspiration for choosing this profession. It will allow time for pair-share experience in telling a story of our own that represents the significance of our own work at its best.  And it will inspire participants to hold on to a vision of what is possible, even in the face of the realities and apparent limitations of billing and productivity standards.
