The answer to this question is complex. Therapists practicing in CT must meet state guidelines as well as national ones if they are registered through NBCOT. Please see the chart provided for a detailed answer to this question. This chart provides the requirements for both state licensure and national registration and lists the amount of contuning education credit you can receive for specific activities. What are the requirements for new graduates of OT programs to work in CT?
You will need to apply to a facility, apply for a temporary license, and then work under the license (and supervision) of a licensed OT until you successfully passes your registration exam (six months max time). The supervising OTR must cosign all of new graduate's documentation and the new graduate must sign with name, OT (no R or L). Once you pass the exam, you can then obtain your full license. See the above question about licensure for more information.
